Birmingham Human Rights Unit Event – 14th April 2016
The Birmingham HRU is delighted to host an Access to Justice evening event.

Guest Speakers – Find out more about practicing in the field of international human rights from our fantastic panel of guest speakers:
James Dixon, Human Rights and Public Law Barrister, No. 5 Chambers, Birmingham
James began his legal career at the Court of Justice of the European Communities in Luxembourg. He worked at Sheffield Law Centre before commencing his pupillage, which had an emphasis on claimant human rights and public law.
Harpreet Paul, Amnesty International UK
A qualified lawyer, Harpreet now works for Amnesty International, the world’s largest grassroots human rights organisation, and will be sharing her experiences, including working at Amnesty’s UN office in New York and her work with REDRESS.
Erika Wright, Intern from Amicus
Erika undertook an internship with Amicus, assisting lawyers for justice on death row, and will be talking about her time assisting capital defenders in the US.
We are so excited to have these guests join us and share their experiences of practicing and working in the field of international human rights.
